With over 30 years of legal practice in Hong Kong, Margaret leads the Real Estate Department of the firm, offering client trusted and strategic legal advice across a broad spectrum of property law and real estate transactions. Her expertise covers residential property sales, commercial property acquisitions, industrial property deals. She is experienced in various kinds of property related transactions, including sale and purchase of residential, commercial and industrial properties deals, property development and redevelopment, tender and auction transactions, real estate financing, leases, tenancies, joint venture, and all aspects of conveyancing in Hong Kong.  In recent years, she is focus on project conveyancing (acting for developers in Hong Kong on sale of first-hand properties and redevelopment. 

In addition to her property practice, Margaret also has considerable experience in direct investments, joint ventures and commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions transactions, public and private offerings, loans and credit facilities involving local and mainland real estate.  

Key Highlights:

  • First-hand Sale Projects: Acted for developers in over 20 major property development projects in Hong Kong since 2013, providing end-to-end legal support from pre-sale preparation to post-completion matters.
  • Deed of Mutual Covenant (DMC) & Management Agreements: Drafted and finalized DMCs for residential, commercial, industrial, and retail developments, including shopping malls, office towers, and mixed-use buildings. Provided legal services to the Land Department of Hong Kong for DMC compliance review.
  • Redevelopment Acquisitions: Advised on strategic property acquisitions, share transfers, and joint venture structures for redevelopment purposes, including urban renewal projects.
  • Mainland Legal Affairs: Active member of the Law Society’s Mainland Legal Affairs Committee since 2001. As early as between 2002 and 2008, Margaret was already a frequent speaker at conferences hosted by the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, Invest HK, the Trade Development Council, and Mainland trade associations, promoting Hong Kong’s role as an investment hub and capital-raising centre for PRC enterprises.
