She handles a wide variety of civil litigations, including cases concerning contracts, bankruptcy and insolvency, defamation, adverse possession, personal injuries, tenancy, fraud and shareholders’ disputes, as well as sensitive divorce and separation cases that often involve child care issues.

• Debt Recovery and Bankruptcy: led over 40 debt recovery and bankruptcy cases on behalf of an insurance company

• Matrimonial disputes: advised and facilitated settlement negotiations, resulting in a global settlement on the ground for divorce, maintenance and complex share transfer arrangements 

• Shareholders’ Dispute: acted for a minority shareholder in over 10 legal actions arising from a dispute with another shareholder in a conglomerate worth above billions with a vast network of subsidiaries over the world

• Contentious Probate: acted for the executrix and beneficiaries and successfully propounded a will that faced challenges based on allegations of a lack of testamentary capacity and fraudulent calumny

• Estate Administration: acted for 10 beneficiaries in a high-profile estate inheritance litigation and administration involving diverse types of assets 

Koey is also developing her experience in handling fraud-related cases, which are becoming widespread and increasingly sophisticated nowadays.  With experience in swiftly advising and helping clients obtain urgent injunctions to freeze the recipients’ bank accounts, Koey provides practical strategic advice to protect assets and prevent further losses.  For asset tracing and recovery, Koey also works closely with legal professionals and investigators in jurisdictions such as PRC, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
