Carrie has been handling contentious and non-contentious mainland China, Hong Kong and foreign intellectual property matters (such as trademark and patent applications and IP due diligence) since she joined the firm. 

Drawing on Carrie’s mainland China legal background, she also provides advice to foreign investors who wish to invest in mainland China on various regulatory issues in mainland China such as foreign exchange control (外匯管制), foreign investment list (負面清單), round-trip investment (返程投資) and etc.

Carrie also advises clients on various commercial agreements such as share sale and purchase agreements, subscription agreements, joint venture agreements and etc. 

The following are key highlights of Carrie’s experiences:

  • Intellectual Property: handling trademark and patent applications in Hong Kong and mainland China; advising clients on trademark infringement and parallel import.  
  • China Practice: Advising various foreign investors on establishment of foreign invested enterprises, tax, foreign exchange, negative lists for foreign investment and etc.

Company: Reviewing contracts for a statutory body set by Hong Kong government and advising it on other legal issues since 2019.
